Game Day is what athletes work for. It is the day where all of the hard work and preparation of the week, month, year, etc. is put to use to grab glory.
But before that glory is attained, hours of practice must be put in. Teams all around the country practice over and over in hopes that the drills will transfer over to game situations.

The Practice
In most sports, there is more than one coach, and that is because there are many different areas of each game. For Glendale Community College and their baseball team, the coaching staff consists of a head coach (Dave Grant), an associate head coach (Ed Trujillo), a hitting coach (Jason Stein) and a pitching coach (Jon Huizinga). During practice, each coach works with their group to improve on areas that need improvement, or continue to bolster areas of strength.
Being a Teammate
Playing sports is tough both physically and mentally. Having teammates to support a player can help when a player is having a rough go mentally during a game. Baseball is known as a game of failure, and good teammates can help a player through a patch. Plus, being involved in a game while in the dugout allows a player to jump right into the game when needed off the bench.
Strength and Conditioning
Strength and conditioning is a part of every sport. In baseball, it is especially important when getting into the latter innings of a game. The legs, the arms, and even mentally, if these parts of the game aren't sharpened often, then it can the difference in a win or loss, especially toward the end of the season.
